We decided to fly with Safari Helicopter Tours because they offer a video of your actual flight for purchase at the end. It was a great flight and a neat souvenir.

They had been getting a lot of rain in the week before we flew and there were literally thousands of waterfalls! These aren't bushes in the picture but rather trees. These waterfalls were huge! If you are adventurous, you can hike up into the canyons and see them "in person" but we didn't.

It seemed like everywhere you looked there were waterfalls. Of course, Kauai has the wettest place on earth on it. (Well until recently it was considered the wettest, now they claim a place in India is wetter) The volcanic peak Mt. Waialeale receives over 480 inches of rain a year and so there is plenty of water to feed all these gorgeous waterfalls.

Some of the coastline

Part of the Napali Coast. You can only access it by hiking in over the course of several days or by boat. A lot of the beaches are at the opening of a valley. Many of the valleys used to contain a tribe made up of about 3,500 people.

It was amazing how clear the water was!

As we were heading back, you could see Waimea Falls from the air.
